Victorian Community Tennis Forum No.3 Recap

18 Mar 2015
Club administrators, coaches and Tennis Victoria staff came together on 18 March for the third Victorian Community Tennis Forum to workshop ideas on how best to increase female participation in tennis. Following presentations from VicHealth and Tennis Australia, attendees put their heads together to come up with a myriad of ways to better engage females in tennis.

Tennis Victoria's CEO Matthew Kennedy firstly addressed the room to provide an exciting update about the status of Victorian Tennis. Tennis Victoria President David Stobart then presented three Service Awards to some very hardworking volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to grassroots tennis over many years.

VicHealth's Shelley White then discussed the overall trends of female participation and identified what could be done to help combat the declining female participation rates.  To view her presentation click HERE

A number of great tables workshops took place with much discussion on what’s currently working well in tennis communities for female participation. Ideas were shared among forum participants and some new program initiatives were uncovered. To view all notes from the night, click HERE

Karen Clydesdale from Tennis Australia then extended on group discussions by giving a current overview of Female Participation in tennis.  To view her presentation click HERE.

There were many interesting ideas and thoughts shared throughout the night and Tennis Victoria would like to thank all who attended .
